According to The Guardian, Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group are close to selling a 30% stake in the club to a consortium that includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The deal is said to be worth around £1.35bn after months of talks.
The investor group is led by Amit Bhatia, son-in-law of Indian billionaire Lakshmi Mittal and a former Queens Park Rangers shareholder. Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin is also part of the consortium.
The Guardian understands the agreement is effectively done, although completion could take up to a month. Neither the club nor the investors have made an official announcement.
