Richards backs Ronaldo, jokes about Shearer’s England record

Micah Richards, now a football pundit, used his platform to argue that veteran forward Cristiano Ronaldo should stay in Portugal's squad despite recent criticism of his performances.

He also made a light‑hearted comment about England's all‑time top scorer Alan Shearer, suggesting that the Portuguese star's longevity could one day eclipse the former striker's record.

Richards highlighted Ronaldo's experience and goal‑scoring pedigree, noting that the 39‑year‑old still contributes at the highest level for both club and country.

While his remarks sparked discussion among fans, Richards emphasized that the focus should remain on team performance rather than individual comparisons. Readers can find match highlights on this site.
