USMNT take on Canada in friendly at Allianz Field

The USA and Canada meet at Allianz Field in Saint Paul on Thursday, with the match scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. ET. The friendly offers both sides a chance to fine‑tune tactics ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures, and The Guardian will be providing live updates, tactical analysis and post‑match reactions.

The United States enter the game fresh off a 3‑0 victory over Mexico, a performance that highlighted their attacking depth and defensive organization. Coach Gregg Berhalter will be looking to maintain that momentum against a Canadian side that has shown resilience in recent internationals.

Fans can submit questions, comments and even jokes to the outlet’s correspondent Beau, whose inbox is open for contributions throughout the match. The Guardian notes that readers can also catch highlights of other fixtures, such as the Faroe Islands’ 2‑2 draw with Kazakhstan after a comeback from 0‑2 down.

All eyes will be on the midfield battle and the forward line, where the United States will aim to replicate the clinical finishing displayed against Mexico, while Canada will seek to disrupt the rhythm and create chances of their own.
