Manchester United Offer JJ Gabriel New Deal Amid Risk of Losing Him for £350,000

According to The Guardian, Manchester United have officially extended a scholarship contract to teenage forward JJ Gabriel, who turned 16 this week. The deal is intended to secure his services for the foreseeable future, but the club now faces the possibility that the prodigy could depart for a modest compensation fee of around £350,000.

Gabriel shocked United last month when he asked for his registration to be cancelled, prompting interest from several elite European clubs. The move has set off a scramble among the continent’s top teams eager to add the promising attacker to their youth ranks.

While United hope the new scholarship will persuade the youngster to stay, the club acknowledges the risk of losing him for a relatively low fee if the cancellation proceeds. Fans can follow the developing story and watch related match highlights on this site.
