Mirror FootballMan City faces double punishment as UEFA eyes action after appeal verdict
Manchester City submitted an appeal on Tuesday following the Premier League’s decision that found the club guilty of 114 of the 115 charges lodged against it, according to Mirror Football.
The appeal comes as the club braces for the possibility of a ‘double punishment’ – a domestic sanction from the Premier League coupled with potential disciplinary action from UEFA, which has signalled it is ready to act.
While the Premier League’s ruling has yet to be finalized pending the appeal, UEFA’s involvement could mean additional penalties, such as a ban from European competition or financial sanctions, depending on the outcome of its own investigation.
Both the Premier League and UEFA have urged the clubs involved to respect the due‑process of the appeals, and Mirror Football notes that further details will emerge once the respective bodies issue their final decisions.
