BBC SportArteta’s conscience clear over Man City charges
According to BBC Sport, Mikel Arteta – who served as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City between 2016 and 2019 before taking over at Arsenal – told reporters that his conscience is clear over the club’s recent charge of breaching financial and operational rules.
Arteta stressed that he was never involved in the decisions that led to the alleged infractions and that he has always acted within the regulations that govern the game. He added that any wrongdoing, if proven, would be the responsibility of the officials who were directly in charge at the time.
The manager said he respects the ongoing investigation and will cooperate fully with any inquiries. He also reminded fans that his focus remains on preparing Arsenal for the upcoming season, while the authorities continue to examine the City case.
