Five Premier League storylines to watch this weekend, beyond Man City’s charges

The Premier League returns this weekend, and while Manchester City’s trip to Liverpool after their recent guilty verdict dominates headlines, the fixture list offers plenty of other intrigue, according to Mirror Football.

The title race remains wide open, with the usual contenders still within touching distance of the summit. Fans will be watching to see whether any club can build a decisive lead as the season heads into its final third.

At the other end of the table, the relegation battle intensifies. A handful of clubs are already entrenched in a points scramble, and every match this weekend could prove pivotal in the fight for survival.

Managerial stories also add flavor to the weekend’s agenda. Recent changes on the dugout and rumors of potential appointments are expected to keep pundits busy as teams look to fine‑tune their approaches.

Finally, the impact of European commitments will be under the microscope. Clubs juggling mid‑week continental fixtures may have to rotate squads, offering opportunities for fringe players to make an impression in the domestic league.
