Araújo joins Liverpool on loan and Van Dijk hopes for more arrivals before new season

According to The Guardian, Liverpool completed a loan deal on Monday to sign Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo. The 27-year-old Uruguay international arrives on a one-season contract and has also played at right-back.

Virgil van Dijk said he is ready to welcome Araújo as his new centre-back partner. “Let’s see what the next couple of weeks bring,” the Dutch captain added, suggesting more arrivals could follow before the new season.
