Robert Lewandowski marked his home Major League Soccer debut with two goals as the Chicago Fire edged Charlotte FC 2-1 on Saturday, according to The Guardian. The win was Chicago's first in MLS since the international break.
The Polish striker, signed as a free agent in late June, delivered a decisive performance to lift the Fire to 9-6-2 (29 points) and narrow the gap to the Eastern Conference's top three. Charlotte, meanwhile, slipped to 7-7-4 (25 points) and have now lost four of their last five road matches.
