Everton striker Martin Sherif admits 61 betting breaches

According to Mirror Football, Everton striker Martin Sherif admitted to violating the Football Association’s betting regulations after an internal audit identified 61 separate wagers placed while he was under contract with the club.

The breaches cover a period from November 2024 to February 2026 and involve a total stake of £1,974.77. The FA’s rules prohibit players, officials and other participants from betting on football matches, and any contravention is treated as a serious offence.

The governing body has said it will now assess the case and determine an appropriate sanction, which could range from a warning to a multi‑month suspension, depending on the severity and any mitigating factors.

Everton have not issued a detailed comment beyond noting that they will cooperate fully with the FA’s investigation and that the club takes compliance with betting rules very seriously.
