The GuardianCarabao Cup: Preston prevail in Goodison home game, Millwall keeper saves four penalties
According to The Guardian, Preston North End edged Huddersfield Town in a Carabao Cup penalty shootout at Goodison Park, the former Everton men's ground. Preston were the designated home side but moved the tie from Deepdale because their pitch was not ready. Delano Burgzorg struck the winning penalty after Daniel Iversen had saved two Huddersfield efforts.
The match finished 1-1 in normal time, with Radinio Balker giving Huddersfield the lead before Jusef Erabi levelled in stoppage time. Preston played the final 69 minutes with 10 men after Lewis Gibson was sent off, but Iversen's shootout saves proved decisive.
Elsewhere in the competition, Millwall goalkeeper Lukas Jensen was the hero at Queens Park Rangers, saving four penalties in a shootout victory, according to the report. The win carried Millwall through as Preston also moved on in the cup.
