Ugandan international David Owori dies after robbery in Kampala

According to The Guardian, the Ugandan football community is in mourning after the death of David Owori, a player for the national team and SC Villa, who was fatally injured during a robbery in Kampala on Tuesday night.

Owori, who captained SC Villa of the Uganda Premier League, was attacked after he tried to stop robbers from taking his mobile phone and other belongings. The robbers were armed with paving stones.

He died in hospital from his injuries. Fans and teammates have paid tribute, while the football community has expressed shock at the loss of a player who represented his country at international level.
