Arsenal tipped to retain Premier League title in 2026-27

According to The Guardian's Premier League 2026-27 season preview, Arsenal are the team to beat. The average of the Guardian writers' predicted positions places the Gunners at No 1, after they finished top of the table last season. The forecast is an aggregate, as The Guardian notes, and not necessarily the prediction of any single writer, including Ed Aarons.

The big question for the new campaign is whether Arsenal can go back-to-back for the first time in more than 90 years. Most of their main title rivals will begin the season under new managers, adding an unusual layer of uncertainty to the race at the top of the table.
