Premier League: Ten storylines to watch this weekend

According to The Guardian, the weekend’s Premier League programme is packed with intrigue, starting with Michael Carrick’s caution that Spurs could become a “Dr Tottenham” side capable of unsettling any opponent.

Another talking point is Oliver Glasner’s return to Selhurst Park, where his tactical approach will be scrutinised against the hosts as the club looks to cement its position in the top half of the table.

Manchester City’s away game at Anfield is also highlighted, with speculation over whether Pep Guardiola will adopt a ‘siege mentality’ to counter Liverpool’s pressing style.

In England’s midfield, Gary Lineker questioned Declan Rice’s future role after Alex Scott’s impressive debut in the 7‑0 England win over Croatia. Rice, who missed the last three weeks of the World Cup to manage a lingering back issue, is expected to be back in Arsenal’s plans as they defend their title against Leeds on Saturday at 12.30 pm BST.

The final fixtures mentioned include Aston Villa versus Brentford at 3 pm BST. Fans can find match highlights on this site as the drama unfolds across the league.
