The GuardianManchester City close in on Ayyoub Bouaddi as Rodri's exit to Barcelona looms
Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, with the 18-year-old Morocco international having agreed personal terms, according to The Guardian.
The move is expected to ease the impact of Rodri's anticipated departure. Barcelona are set to return with an improved bid for the City midfielder.
City are still finalising the deal with Lille, who value Bouaddi at €100m (£85m). New manager Enzo Maresca wants to bring the teenager straight into his first-team squad.
City face Arsenal in the Community Shield on Sunday and begin their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth on 23 August. Readers can find related match highlights on this site.
