The GuardianArteta expects Guimarães to ‘ignite’ Arsenal and help take team to new level
According to The Guardian, Mikel Arteta believes Bruno Guimarães can be the catalyst for a new level of performance at Arsenal, describing the midfielder as a "warrior" who will "ignite something different" in the team.
The 28-year-old was presented to supporters ahead of Sunday's 3-2 friendly loss to Borussia Dortmund at the Emirates Cup, following his £75m move from Newcastle United. He has signed a four-year contract.
Guimarães adds further depth to an already crowded midfield department that includes Declan Rice, Martin Ødegaard, Mikel Merino, Martin Zubimendi and Eberechi Eze.
The Gunners will hope the Brazilian's arrival can provide the spark needed as they prepare for the new season.
