Vinícius Júnior signs new Real Madrid deal, ending Arsenal hopes

According to The Guardian, Vinícius Júnior has ended speculation over his future by signing a new six-year contract with Real Madrid, extending his stay until 2032. The Brazil international had been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal, who were monitoring his situation as he entered the final year of his previous deal.

A difficult 2025-26 season for Madrid — one in which the club failed to win a trophy and saw José Mourinho take over in the dugout — had given the Premier League champions hope of prising him away. However, Vinícius has now committed his long-term future to the Spanish side.

“Eight years at the Bernabéu are too few,” Vinícius said, according to The Guardian. The new agreement brings an end to one of the summer's major transfer stories and leaves Arsenal to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements.
