Arsenal agree £75m fee with Newcastle for Bruno Guimarães

According to The Guardian, Arsenal have agreed a £75m fee with Newcastle for Bruno Guimarães. The Brazil midfielder is set to leave Newcastle's pre-season training camp in southern Spain and fly to London for a medical in north London in the coming days.

The move follows a compromise between the clubs. Newcastle rejected an initial offer of £70m on Monday, while Arsenal had hoped to pay no more than £60m. Newcastle were holding out for at least £80m for their outgoing captain.

Guimarães, who turns 29 in November, has two years remaining on his contract. He is expected to complete his transfer to Arsenal after the medical.
